Images of Paris... Page 3: Other Scenes

Some of the typical images of the City: stores, roads, begging dogs...

This is rue du Commerce, the main drag in my neighborhood here in the 15th arrondissement. It used to be and still is to a large degree a hub for merchants selling their products in the 19th century. Textiles, meat, cheese, kitchen utensils, etc. Now it's mainly cluttered with wine shops and cell phone retailers.

A fruit stand at the end of Commerce where it hits rue des Entrepreneurs. The fruit vendors here take great pride in the presentation of their product, and it shows.

Why, here's a man straightening out his fruit as we speak. Don't want any non-symmetrical spots in the stacks now.

Since advertisement of cigarettes is Toby here as well, Marlboro had to start a line of clothing to push its brand recognition, and here is the outlet on Blvd. Saint Germain.

Four things you'll see on just about any street corner:
A telephone booth, a cute girl in super tight pants, a Tabac or magazine stand, and a Metro stop (way in the background there.)

Well, even in a socialist society sometimes a dog will have to put up a sign and ask for help. He was doing pretty good that day I think. He's a good speller too!

Ah, my favorite little bar in Paris, the Relais Magenta. You can find it on Blvd. Magenta on the corner of rue Pierre-Chausson: Metro Jacques Bonsergent.
(Hotel Little down Pierre-Chausson, on the right.)

I call it art nouveaux, but it's really just a street T-shirt vendor packing up shop.
