Yup! I made it, lock,
stock and barrel, two basses, a CD burner and my Macintosh
(such a damn good little laptop!) I'm still gonna take lots
o' pics, I promise! But the cool thing is I havn't had the
time! What, with all the shopping (a colour printer, a
scanner, socks, bottles of wine) and seeing jazz concerts
(Kyle Eastwood) at New Morning, spending time with locals
Nicole and Nada, and drinking at the corner bar with my
newest and oldest Parisian friends, I havn't been able to
strap on the ole' camera and do the tourist thing in ernest.
But soon, I promise! Meanwhile...

This is Max on the left. I call him "my Manager" as
he plays my CD all day long at this bar where he
works, and has taken it upon himself to call some
radio stations and try to get some airplay for me.
He also hipped me to the publications where jazz
concerts are advertised. I took him to the Kyle
Eastwood concert at New Morning where we drank too
much and stumbled back to the bar at 1AM and drank
some more...

This is my long-time friend in Paris, Miguel. He
speaks literally no english. I met him on my first
trip to Paris in 1991 and I've seen him every time
I've come here since. he always remembers me when I
just show up, and I tell him stories of California
in my broken French. He owns this bar on the same
street as Hotel Little. (As for my hairdo, I had
just woke up!)

This is Phillipe who works the lobby at Hotel
Little. He and his brother Michel own and operate
the Hotel. This is the first place I stayed my
first time here and I've stayed here at least one
night every time I've been to Paris.
