Good Ole' Pops!The first reason I ever wanted to put up a web-site was to publish via the internet some photos of my dad after he died in October, 1996. This way myself and the other members of our family and freiends of his could more easily share images, memories, and stories of good ole' Popsy! I'll have more images of him soon. The first thing I gotta do is "Publish" this great story my dad told his friend Bill Richmond about 4 years before he died. It's about his trip on a Merchant Marine ship in 1945 at 17 years old. Bill scanned some great old photos that dad had sitting in a drawer somewhere and put together this story. I had Bill email it to me and here she is! Thanks Bill! It's interesting for me because I see a side of my dad I never got from him in to person. The way he remembers events as a teenager and his reactions to things as a young man, hearing the sailor lingo, and imagining him on the sea where he always wanted to be. To be in San Francisco in 1945, wow...
